DATA OUTPUT
Data in the form of excel spread sheets are provided to users of the service. These data can be incorporated in any number of statistical packages for final analyses. All data are MIAME compliant and the raw data can been deposited in a MIAME compliant database, such as GEO.
In this example, our excel data output table is shown as a PDF file. The numbers 0, 1+, 2+, 3+, 4+ or 5+ correspond to band intensities of hybridization with target bacterial species. For illustrative purposes, data were omitted for target species for which there was no hybridization signal (e.g., 0’s) in all samples.
There are several observations to note in this example which compares bacterial profiles of subgingival plaque samples from subjects with periodontitis.
- Periodontitis profiles (subjects 1-5) were different from severe periodontitis profiles (subjects 6-10).
- Bacterial profiles in the same subject (#5) clustered together.
- There is higher microbial diversity in subjects with severe periodontitis.
